These two projects were created to help coach Mike Krzyzewski celebrate two career milestones. The first shoe box was created to to celebrate Coach K breaking the men's NCAA Division One all time wins record, which had previously been held by long-time Indiana coach Bobby Knight.
The other box was designed to celebrate Coach K's accomplishment of being the first men's coach to win 800 games. The shoes are a one-of-a-kind, handmade pair with a mix of design cues from his first coaching job at army, as well as his current role at Duke.
One of one hand made AF-1 designed and made for Bruce Killgore the original designer of the Air Force One. These were given to him for an event he was attending to celebrate 25 years of the Air Force One.
( They were a surprise for him and he didn’t know that they glowed in the dark. )
San Diego Chargers running back Ladainian Tomlinson was a huge Air Force 1 fan, so to honor him, we handmade him Nike shoes designed to mimic his Chargers helmet and uniform.
Tomlinson believed he was chess piece in the game of football, so to represent that sentiment we laser etched a horse chess piece into the side of his custom wooden shoe box. I designed the shoe box to have a roll-up garage door to represent the ubiquitous roll-up doors found at football stadiums.
As part of Nike’s N7 Native American outreach piece, we created a custom shoe and gift box for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford. We were given a blank slate shoe, to which we added the color way details and graphics. We covered Bradford’s custom shoe box with laser-etched graphics specific to his life.
